For those that join us today please confirm friend invites etc and we'll send you an invite to the fleet once you're on. Everyone is a fleet leader right now until we sort everything out.

I had my first blast at the enemy signal klingons yesterday evening, managed to get myself blown up a couple of times. Is there any penalty at all for this?
Was doing ok, managing my shield, laying down phaser fire to drop their shields for the other folks joining in, but suddenly, I was surrounded in 3d, and they were all multiple photon torps headed my way. Piff paff puff. Enjoyed it though.
I think I've got Fade to about level 4 now, how are other folks doing? Bit of shame theres only 2 character slots but I suppose at the end of the day its better if I focus on one character rather than do my usual alt-itis thing, and miss the boat.

Just (like a minute ago) got my disks and I'm installing now. The friend server is down, but was able to add Laz before it went to hell. See you all tonight in some shape or form!

Just waiting for D2D to release the retail keys so I can get my main character up and running. I'll be playing my original Tac Ops for today then deleting him when the Joined Trill and TOS become available - I'll stick anything useful in the Fleet Bank, it won't be much, but I won't complain if someone takes it before I get the chance to re-claim it.
Shame I can't trade my Boff's with myself.

You'll be able to buy more char slots I think in the c-store at some point Fade.
Tymaara, see you in game.
Amazon seems to have canceled 1400 pre orders... I've not had mine canceled since I ordered in Dec, but it looks like most of those from Jan are canceled due to a supplier problem...
Hope no one here is affected.

I ordered mine from Amazon 3 days ago, after much mewing about whether to play the game, and I had no problems. Mind you, I got the silver edition (didn't need another t-shirt), so that might have had something to do with it.
I've gotten ensign Tymaara Akeis, human female, registered and aboard the ship, but had to log out at hailing the other ship, due to the fact the wife came home early from work...should be back on around 8ish.

Heh, always happens to me too
When I ordered from Amazon the gold edition was £24. There wasn't any mention of a t-shirt or anything other than the Borg BO. As far as I'm concerned those are just bonuses I wasn't expecting

How bloody annoying this is!
Amazon - UK: Lists only the Gold Edition and has a couple of sellers, one asking £199.99 and the other £59.99, and get this - for your sixty quid you'll get the disc, no key. Bloody rip-off merchants.
Amazon - Germany has both the Silver and Gold editions listed.
wtf is up with Amazon UK then?
So I'm still waiting for Play.com to deliver my Silver edition, which they have listed for release on 12/02?
Almost tempted to cancel the Play order and go to Gamestation, which has a bonus Starfleet Shuttle.
If I had the PC to play it on I'd be right pee'd off. As it is I can wait and amuse myself with Mass Effect 2. Which runs nicely on my MacBook Pro and looks georgous.

Amazon have had big problems with their supplier for this. They had to cancel 1400+ pre orders of the gold edition for people that didn't order before early Jan...
Everyone then has gone to order the standard edition from them probably causing them to delist it as that is now over subscribed.
The official UK release is Friday for some reason and there was a scare earlier today that they'd cut the grace period short but that seems to just be paranoia on the forum trolls parts.
If you want the game then most people are now just going via steam or D2D.

Phew. I'm glad I went to D2D for a change. I usually buy in town or pre-order from GAME. The only reason I did that is because I wanted to get into the head start.

those that are still awaiting keys (e.g. from Amazon), are you able play this evening? I'm getting the 'you are not allowed to log into this server...' error when I log in now.

They are having capacity issues, just keep trying to log in and it will go through. The grace period is still in effect. I was having the "not allowed to login at this time" message a few times but I got in eventually.

Thanks Laz. I've heard people talk about queues so assumed that dealt with capacity issues. I tried again a few times later and got in, so all is well in my (STO) world again :)

That isn't a Microtransaction addon it is a purchase bonus from Walmart. A one off like the Borg BO or the Constitution class starter ship.
If they added this as a micropayment I'd have to admit it would kill any leveling services from the gold sellers
The only things to buy right now are the fed klingon and ferengi character races.
From looking at the Champions store there isn't a great deal worth buying, all costume and non skill/stat stuff.
